Meet the Heart Behind the Healing

Sarah Lei, M.A.

Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

LIC AMFT147497

Clinical Focus & Approach

Sarah understands that life can be deeply challenging and filled with unknowns. When life feels overwhelming, we may respond by trying to manage it through control, running on adrenaline and hyper productivity. Some of us may even experience a sense of dark sadness, feeling stuck and weighed down by worthlessness or dissatisfaction in our everyday lives. Others may cope by diligently showing up to care for others while feeling guilty or embarrassed when their own needs pop up. Existing and surviving in the unpredictability of life can often feel lonely and daunting.

It is within this deep understanding of life’s struggles that Sarah views therapy as a safe and contained space where the pace is unhurried and the process is honored. It is in this space where the tension between where an individual hopes to be and the reality of where they currently find themselves can be gently held. Here, there is an opportunity to explore how the past continues to shape present experiences, relationships, and patterns, while tending to the longing to live differently and freely in the present moment.

Together with her clients, Sarah creates this kind of safety by moving at a pace that feels steady and manageable while listening with curiosity and empathy. She offers a grounded and warm presence that welcomes all the different parts of her client’s internal experience, even the parts that may feel messy, hidden, or unfinished. Sarah trusts that change gradually unfolds in the most meaningful way when a person is seen, heard, and supported, in and outside of therapy.

Sarah works with and supports individual adults navigating through anxiety, depression, codependency, grief, life transitions, spirituality, and questions of cultural identity. She also sees couples who are facing challenges in communication, building trust, and emotional connection.

Education
